officially achieved ASTM F2656-23 certification with the highest Level 1 in the PU30 – P1 crash
rating, underscoring its strength and reliability in high-security applications.
The crash test, conducted on June 4, 2025, by Calspan LLC, an ISO/IEC 17025:2017
accredited testing facility, demonstrated the barrier’s superior performance. The PBG
successfully stopped a 6,055 lb (2,747 kg) pickup truck traveling at 32.2 mph (51.8 km/h) with
minimal penetration—meeting the stringent “P1” rating requirements for perimeter security
systems. Additionally, Spike Systems’ models Crash Barrier Gate (CBG), Motorized Tiger Teeth
(CS-72), and PBG are now UL Certified (E541940) ensuring top-tier safety, reliability, and
quality.
